My Morning Routine

I absolutely hate waking up. I have always wanted to be a morning person, but it has yet to happen for me. I've come to accept that I will always hit snooze on my alarm at least once if not more. My bed is far too comfortable especially when I am cuddled up with both dogs and my boyfriend. Our bed is beyond crowded, it's a wonder how we fit two people and two dogs all while somehow managing to get a peaceful night's rest. Anyways, when I wake up, I look a mess. I tend to move around a lot in my sleep so my hair is always supremely messed up. The next move I make is picking up my phone like any other 22 year old. I look at my various social media sites first and then next I take a look at my horoscope. I'm still unsure if I truly believe in them or not, but growing up my mom read me my horoscope each morning so I guess it has sentimental value. My favorite thing to do each morning is checking out my email to see what the Daily Skimm has sent me. The Daily Skimm breaks down all of the important news headlines you should know by sending you a daily email. I find it helpful, plus I like staying informed on current events without having to read a bunch of articles to do so. It's a great breakdown and can be quite humorous. Then I kiss my pups and my boyfriend (if he's still in bed which is not often) and head for the kitchen.
I usually make hot coffee or sip the iced coffee cold brew I made the night before in order to fully open my eyes. I'll eat a little breakfast. Eggs and toast or oatmeal and fruit. I finally make my way to the bathroom to get ready. I wash my face with Clean and Clear morning burst. I am sure to wake my face with cold water which also helps open my pores. When I rinse my face I use cold water at first and then I switch it to hot to close my pores back up. That's just a helpful tip I learned from aunt. Next I put on makeup. Now I will preface this by saying I am not a makeup artist, I probably do things wrong whether it be the order or the actual application. Here is the list of the products I use:
-Elf poreless primer
-Elf concealer (the lightest color)
-Maybelline "Fit Me" in porcelain
-Elf blush
-Wet 'N Wild highlight illuminator stick
-Maybelline "Fit Me" in porcelain Powder
-Lush "Emotional Brilliance" Finishing Powder
-Revlon Skinny liquid eyeliner
-Covergirl Lashblast mascara
Once I finish my makeup I brush my teeth and fix my hair. I usually shower at night so I take my hair down from my ponytail and fix it up a little bit. It takes me much longer to figure out what I am going to wear than it does to get my makeup on and my hair done. I am very grateful that I can put a minimal amount of effort into my appearance and look at least halfway decent. I am also grateful to my mom who gave me the good skin genes. I haven't always worn this many makeup products. Before I started Youtube and even in the beginning when our camera quality and lighting wasn't as great, I would either wear no makeup or just eyeliner and mascara. Once we got a better webcam and a professional lighting, I had to step my game up. I will never be someone who spends a lot of time and effort on my makeup. I admire the woman and girls who do put effort into their makeup. They look incredible and I envy their skills, but it's just not for me. AND THAT IS OKAY! Wether you do full glam or keep it simple, you are just as beautiful. If anyone has any suggestions on products I should try out, I would love to hear! I know I have been promising a night time routine video and I am hoping to do it sometime in the next week. Until then... xo
